By measuring the length of time the signals took to reach Earth a GPS receiver can triangulate three or more signals to work out within a few feet your exact position.

However, the signals broadcast by GPS atomic clocks can also be used as an ultra precise timing reference by using a Galleon GPS NTP time server. Our dedicated GPS time servers receive the GPS time and convert it to UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) for use on your NTP network.
