Network Time Protocol (NTP) time synchronization across a network.
NTP is used in all Galleon time synchronization products such as our NTP time servers. NTP is a proven, system-independent solution for global time synchronization and is utilized worldwide. NTP is by far the most commonly used time synchronization protocol and a NTP time server offers a reliable method of receiving and distributing the time. A Galleon NTP server can synchronize entire networks to within a few milliseconds of the world time standard UTC (Coordinated Universal Time).

NTP uses a hierarchical system of levels of clock sources; each level of this hierarchy is termed a 'stratum' and assigned a layer number starting with 0 at the top. An independent time source like an atomic clock is a stratum 0 device while a dedicated NTP time server is a stratum 1 device and internet sources of time are stratum 2 devices. NTP can provide better accuracy for a stratum 1 device than stratum 2.
Galleon products range from NTP Timer Servers to Standalone Atomic Clock receivers. Galleon products synchronize millions of computers across the globe.
